 Yaffé Glamour Photo Shoot

For Julie's final challenge she booked in with Yaffé Photography in Southport for what she viewed as an utterly terrifiying concept of a glamour photo shoot. Julie would like to say special thanks to Adam at Yaffé and to all the staff at Uptown Funk for all their help and kind attention Make up: Faye Fleming • Hair: Neil Rushton • Nails: Jourdane Dacre

Here's a little taster from one of the photo shoot ...

Indoor Sky Diving

Daniel Drayton and his family treated Julie to an amazing challenge of an indoor skydive. This took place at Airkix in Manchester - It was great fun and Steve the instructor was fabulous. Special thank you to the Draytons for the opportunity.

Pendle Hill

On Sunday 9th August we are pleased to report that Julie completed a walk up Pendle Hill as the replacement to her unfinished attempt at Snowdon. As you can see from the photos the weather was indeed much kinder. Standing at 557 metres above sea level it takes in some beautiful scenery and dominates the Forest of Bowland.

Snowdon Challenge

Julie's Snowdon Challenge didn't go quite as planned. The weather forecast was not encouraging from the start however she set out with an abundance of enthusiasm. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales at 1,085 metres and is no mean feat.

She met a friendly mountain pony along the route or at least it was while it was plied with snacks and nibbles - unfortunately the relationship ceased when the food ran out! Along the trail they encountered a number of like minded walkers including some lovely ladies from Wigan who generously donated £10 to the BGF #25 - unfortunately Julie hasn't got their names but would like to say a great big thank you to them.

Undeterred, Julie continued her quest but the rain began in earnest - literally soaking her through to the skin and that was putting it very lightly indeed! Julie and her supporting team of friends reached the half way point with a welcome relief. After a short rest and fuel stop and an appreciative change into some dry clothing - the optimistic adventurers set out once more.

However, now feeling a little disheartened and with the accompaniment of persistent rain that showed no sign of abating it was reluctantly decided to curtail the challenge. Never the defeatist, Julie has decided that as she did not complete her challenge she has decided to add a replacement to her inventory of walking up Pendle Hill. Let's wish her success and hope the weather is far kinder.

Julie would like to say a big thank you to Excel Falconry in Ormskirk for a fantastic experience.
